Edward knows his Poppy...

My Poppy passed away six years ago and lately I've felt his presence in my home. Last week, I've had my lights flicker in my scraproom when I was looking at a certain picture and I've had something fall on my shelf. I knew it was Poppy letting me know that he was here... There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about him.

Anyways, tonight, Edward did not want to go to bed. He put up a big fuss so I decided to let him look through my old scrapbook. I flipped to a page that had Poppy on there and Edward looks right at it like he knew who it was and started touching his face in the photo and then he bent down and kissed the page! So I looked at Edward and said, "you know who your Poppy is don't you? He comes to see you doesn't he?"

Mom has mentioned that sometimes when he's at her house, he'll suddenly look up like someones there and start smiling. He has also done this once that I am aware of. He looks up and reaches his arms up like he wants to be picked up.

I know some people don't believe in life after death but I do... and I just needed to share this.

He is so bright for an 8 month old

OMG!! So the other day MY 8 MONTH OLD JUST TOOK 3 STEPS BY HIMSELF TRYING TO GO FOR HIS TOY!! He probably would have taken more had I not interfered... I was worried that he'd fall and bang his head on the shelf in my room.

On that same day, while I was trying to put Edward to bed, he was trying to climb over my shoulder; he was doing everything he could to get out of going to bed. I looked at him and said, "no, it's nite nite time." And do you know what the little stinker did? He leans his forehead against mine starring me in the eye with a mischievous little grin on his face that clearly stated, "mommy, you and I both know that you are not going to push this issue." LOL. So I started laughing and gave him an Eskimo kiss. Pete has been doing this with him...

So Pete will rub noses with him and say "honk, honk". And Edward cracks up... so I did it, I asked him where was my nose. He touched my nose. Then I rubbed my nose against his and said "honk, honk" and my sweet baby boy lost it. LOL. He was laughing so hard, I though he would pass stop breathing lol. And I started laughing and I repeated the process. It was about 10pm. when we were doing this and I loved every moment of it.

The boy's pretty stingy with his kisses... and boy was I surprised when I asked him for a kiss this morning, he opened his mouth wide and gave me a kiss. He made my morning.

And here he is tonight at 9:20pm. He clearly did not want to go to bed. I think he's becoming a night owl. Or maybe he is fighting to stay awake to play with mommy since mommy works all day. So I'm watching Edward crawl to where Paw paw is sitting. Paw Paw looks at him and does not move. LOL. So Edward squeezes by him, looks in my room, doesn't see anything interesting, and decides to crawl around Paw Paw back to me. LOL.

Guess who's 1 month today?

Oh my goodness... I can't believe that my baby boy is one month old today! The past month has been a blur and has sped by fast! I was just talking to mom yesterday about this... telling her that I've done nothing this past month! But she reminded me that I have been taking care of the little man, making sure he's eating and taken care of... Good point! That's been a lot of work but it's getting easier as the days go by. I'm enjoying every moment too because he won't always be this tiny!

Here are a few shots I took of my mom's dog Zac and momom's dog Tilly. Aren't they the cutest?

Yesterday mom and I went to get a pedicure and man did I need it. It's been nine months since my toes received any tending, loving, care. hehe. Aren't they prettiful?

Got milk?

LMAO... I am still laughing this morning when I think about what happened last night. Pete was cracking up, shaking his head at me last night when I told him what happened. So last night, I had the baby in bed with while I was watching a movie and I was feeding him during this time.

Well, the little man was pretty fussy about 9:30 and kept crying and knocking the boob away and I know he's hungry. He starts screaming and his face starts turning beet red which is unlike him... so I know something's wrong and I look down and find a drool hanging from the boob to his mouth. So I go to wipe it with a burp cloth and it's still there... and I'm like what the hell! So I look closer and my nipple is squirting milk out like a faucet! And my poor boy skept squinting his eyes and trying to move away as he kept getting squirted in the face. Just as I figured out what was happening, I slapped a burp cloth on the boob and started to wipe the little guy's face off... He was not a happy camper with mommy. LOL. But I had to laugh because I just couldn't believe what happened... lol

Spent the day with mom

So yesterday, mom picked Edward and I up around 11 am to spend the day at her house with Aunt Jamie and Katie as well. Gives us both a new scenary since mommy hasn't been able to leave the house due to a c-section. We had a nice relaxing day! Mom and the girls held the baby and I read, did some magazine work and relaxed a bit. Mom took the baby to church around 5 and I napped. When she got home, Jamie stripped Edward and put on a bathing suit and she and Edward got a bath. He absolutely loved it! Will upload pictures in a bit. Jamie had a great time until I heard her screaming from the livingroom. LOL. Edward decided that he needed to poop and well, there were a few little green terds floating in the tub. So Jamie starts yelling and shortly after that, Edward got scared and started to cry but once Jamie calmed down, he did too and well, that was the end of the bath. LOL. Mom will be sure to pick up baby swimmies for next time.

2 weeks old shots

I love this hat on the baby. He looks so good in green :) Here are a few shots that I took over the weekend. I had another fun hat but it's too big so I'll have to wait until Edward's head gets a little bigger for that shoot. LOL. Yes Jodye, I remember what you said... "he's going to be a toy to you." LOL. Poor kid will never escape the camera!

Mother, daughter holding baby Edward

Photo taken by Reagan Williams at http://www.reaganwilliamsphotography.com/ This is one of the dozens of photos that Reagan took Sunday when she was here to do a a shoot of my new bundle of joy! When Mom sent it to me, all that came out of my mouth was Oh my God!! Isn't it beautiful? Reagan is located in the Catonsville area of Maryland for those of you who are in the area and are interested in having her do a photo shoot for you! She's great and I promise you that you will not be disappointed! She does wonderful work. I should have more photos next week sometime from the shoot to share!

Today was a good day

Dad came by since he was in the area to spend time with the baby. He has to come when the girls and mom aren't here because otherwise, they won't let him hold the baby... LOL. He even dressed Edward and took him for a walk around the block since it was a beautiful day out! He said that the baby really enjoyed it. He was looking all around. Mom came at 2 with Reagan, a photographer who asked if she could come do a quick shoot of the baby. This was fabulous because a few months ago, I emailed her telling her that I wanted her to do newborn shots... but after Edward came and I realized how much we'd be spending on diapers, wipes etc... Well I couldn't pay for the photo shoot which made me sad because this was something I had wanted. But in the end, Reagan asked if she could come take a few shots for free which was a win win for both of us because she can post the shots in her gallery, and I'd promote her on my blog and when I scrapbook the photos... I can't wait to see them. She showed me one that she took of the baby and I and OMG. She's good! She took some naked shots and Pete just thought it was wrong LMAO... But he just doesn't get it. Pete's mom is here for the week. She has been rocking Edward as she reads for the past few hours. It's been a rather peaceful day! Mom has been dying to get over here. She hasn't been here in a week and it's killing her. She couldn't believe how much Edward has grown in a week. He's fattening up a little. She said she couldn't wait another week and that she will be over on Tuesday lol. I tried to keep her out of the house while Pete's mom was here but I do understand mom's pain. LOL. And honestly, Kay doesn't mind. Mom also said that Jamie (my sister) will be coming by Sunday after practice to spend the day with the baby :) I'm surprised she has waited this long. She's absolutely crazy about her nephew. Well, things have been going really well. Today I finally put on some normal clothes instead of the pj's I've been living in for the past two weeks. It felt good to dress up. Mom and Reagan said that I looked great and I actually felt great. I changed like 5 times this morning because nothing fit right... I'm healing much quicker then I thought but that doesn't mean I'm walking the stairs or cleaning and lifting... Doc said none of these things for 30 days and I am not going against her orders because I do not want to have to have surgery again! Well, I'm gonna go for now. I have no pictures to post yet... My computer died yesterday... which I do not want to talk about because I'm devestated, so the pictures will have to wait because I don't have a way to upload them to hubby's laptop.

More photos

Here are some new photos that I took today! I'm not going to tell you how many pictures I have so far from the day he was born... lol. It's sick but I can't get enough of the little guy!

We got plowed!

Wow! we've been in this house for almost 7 years and we have never been plowed because we are on a dead end street in a small community so imagine my surprise when I heard a truck last night on our street. At first I heard it and though, "yea, good luck to whoever thinks that they are getting out..." but then I saw moving headlights and was shocked! Someone was plowing our street at 11:45 pm. I thought to myself, "there is a God!" While Pete was outside shoveling today, he was talking to the neighbors. It was then that he learned that all of our neighbors on our street called the city. Everyone called, demanding and screaming that "we get plowed because there's a pregnant woman due any day on our street." Which of course made me feel good. I actually have neighbors who care! Apprarently when Winnie said "what happens if she goes in labor?" The woman on the other end replied, "call 911." This pissed Winnie off which put her in a screaming fit, "they can't get to her!!" So every one of my neighbors fought for me this year to get the road plowed and it worked. I feel so much better now... I've been so worried about going into labor and not being able to get out... Scary thoughts!!!

The furbabies finally got to go out today

OMG, I think it's finally stopped snowing. We have like 3 feet of snow out there! My husband has been out shoveling for hours while I slept for hours LOL. Hey, I'm pregnant remember? So I get the get out of jail free card. (It's nice too. LOL). Anyways, this morning when the dogs woke me up for their morning walk, I opened the front door and they both looked at me with the "go to hell look" they were not going out there...and they honestly couldn't... The snow was over their heads! After Pete shoveled, the dogs had fun running around the car a few times unleashed because they weren't going anywhere anyways lol. They managed to find a small spot behind the bushes to potty. My silly hubby thought he could get the trunk out... and then he came in after trying awhile and says "were not going anywhere" I just looked at him like "duh!" Earlier I was going crazy cause the power cut off a few times and the internet went out for awhile as well... now it's back so I'm happy! Stay room!
