Grade 1 Memories

Happy Monday friends! Today, I am sharing my first layout using the July Clique Kit. I love this month's kit. It's been awhile since I scrapbooked a layout using products from Elle's Studio. I really like the patterns and die cuts!

A few weeks ago, just few days before the last day of school, I went through Edward's book bag. While I was going through his bag, pulling out his recess bag of toys and such, I came across this little booklet he made at school. It was titled, "My End of year Memory Book." I get excited when I see these little booklets because I get to read what he writes without having to ask him what he learned that day etc.

I don't know why, but I can never decide where to place my enamel dots! They never look right. Ever. Is it just me or does this happen to you too?!

I used one of the die cut tags as a template for my journaling tag. After I printed my journaling on white cardstock, I covered the typed journaling with a tag and cut around it. Then I did the same with the transparency sheet and layered it on top of the journaling tag with a sticker heart. I really like how it turned out.

Normally, I use the sentiments from my die cut packs for the title, however, for this layout, I wanted to mix it up a bit so I used two different alphas for the title.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Life

Good morning friends! I've had the past few days off doing NOTHING...but relaxing, scrapping and hanging out with Edward. It's been nice. I wanted to create a layout using my 6x6 paper pad "Oh My Heart" but had no embellishments from this collection so I got creative! I used my stamps to make my own embellishments for this layout.

Would you like to know what 6x6 paper pads are good for besides the smaller patterns?! Color blocking! It's easier to do than you might think. Simply lay a few 6x6 papers on the base of your layout, adhere them down and use scissors to trim the edges.

For the embellishments, I simply stamped different floral images on to the patterned paper then cut them out using a pair of scissors. For one of the flowers, I used a marker to fill in the colors a little bit to make it pop. LOVE these stamps by Altenew.

Here is the layout,. Isn't it pretty?

Here's a closer look of the flowers. I used a foam square to layer them.

I hand-cut two triangles and doodled around the traingles since I wanted to fill in the space at the bottom and didn't have any embellishments.

I used Heidi Swapp's butterfly stencil to create the butterflies at the top. The patterned butterfly was a stamp that was part of the floral stamp set. I used Nuvo's to decorate the butterflies to make them stand out more. The "life" stamp was from one of Ali Edward's Story Stamp Kits.

I used the stamp to create a smaller flower above my journaling and added an enamel dot to the center.

I hope I was able to inspire you to pull out those stamps the next time you are running low on your embellishments. And don't forget about those 6x6 paper pads. They are awesome!

Favorite

Hello everybody! I am sharing my very first layout using the July Clique Kit. I love the pretty papers and embellishments in this kit. And I really like the Pretty Little Studio paper, flair and transparency. Fun kit! The colors make me so happy.

I tried to keep this layout simple by adding some yellow and blue Shimmerz mists in the background. I added a 1/4" border around the edge of the white cardstock using a ruler and a black pen. And because I couldn't get enough of the pretty transparency, I cut the "always" image out using scissors and added a puffy sticker on top of the transparency and adhered it to the bottom of the layout.

I cut the flowers from the Pretty Little Studio cut-apart paper and used a foam square to make the middle of the flower pop off the page. The leaves are actually Altenew stamps!

I used the transparency to cover one of the die cut tags above the photos. And I tucked strips of paper "branding strips" slightly behind the photos.

We hope you love this month's kit as much as we do! Thanks for visiting today.

Just a little adventure

Hello friends. I am sharing another layout using Crate Paper's Oasis collection and my 2" circle punch from Stampin'Up. It's been awhile since I used my circle punches on a layout so I decided to have fun with them; create something fun... I love mixing patterned paper together so this layout was perfect for me. I used my 6x6 paper pad to punch out several circles to use at the background of my layout.

I decorated the center of the circles with another 1" punch of patterned paper, stickers and word stickers. Love the pink Cadillac!

I matted a few 4x6 papers behind the photo at different angles, then I tucked the "summer" tag slightly behind the photo and added the floral chipboard at the bottom left-side of the layout.

I added the "Love, Love, Love," sticker at the top and used a small piece of foam square to make the edge of the sticker pop off the page.

Since the flower looked too plain on the corner, I added the "Just a little adventure" sticker.  I love how it changes the look of the photo mat.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Gamer

Hello scrappers! I have a masculine layout to share with you today. For this layout, I used Pretty Little Studio's Ain't Life Grand collection by Ashley Horton. And since the photos are from Skyzone, I decided to use the Gamer cut file and note tabs.

I sprayed the cardstock with orange, blue and lime mist from Shimmerz Paints. Love how vibrant the mist looks on this layout. The orange wasn't as orange as I planned, but it still worked.

Initially, I was going to mat the photo collage using a few tabs but I did not cut it right and so rather than throw all of the pieces away, I used the naked piece as my mat because I liked the mesh look. I used the arrow from one of the tabs at the bottom right-side of the photo collage as well.

Adore

Pinterest Inspiration

Good morning scrappers. I have a pretty simple layout to share with you today. This image from Pinterest inspired me to scrap a large photo! I've held on to Jamie's wedding invitation because I wanted to create a layout with it and this layout was the perfect opportunity! I printed the photo on a letter size cardstock then trimmed it down to the same size as the invitation.

Since I didn't want to overwhelm the layout with too many embellishments, I decided to create a cluster at the bottom right-side of the photo using a few cut-aparts, sticker words and die cuts.

I added two cut-apart banners at the top of the photo to help pull it together.

The next time you scrap, try using a larger photo with a few die cuts and cut-aparts from your stash. These embellishments go a long way!

TGIF

Hi everyone. I finally used my Exclusive summer kit by Clique Kits. I played with lots of goodies from Crate Paper's Oasis collection. So fun! My favorite pieces from the collection is the flamingos and the die cut tags. Well, I like it all... really, it's such a pretty collection that is so different from other summer collections. For the base of my back of the white cardstock, I used a patterned paper from Maggie Holme's Cute Girl collection. I wanted to bring out the colors from the adorable unicorn floatie.

As you can see, I like playing with lots of layers on my layout. Die cuts and stickers are my favorite and I am always using these embellishments on my projects.

I really like the touch of gold against the bright colors on this layout. It really makes the layout pop.

Another favorite embellishment of mine is word stickers. I can't get enough of them! I use different phrases that focus on the journaling and photo.

What do you think? Isn't this collection so pretty? What is your favorite type of embellishment? I'd love to know what your favorites are these days.

And here is another layout I created using the same collection. Love the retro feel to this collection.

Fur-ever

Good morning scrappers! Have you checked out Creative Memories online store lately? I stopped by their website a few weeks ago to stock up on tape runner refills and foam squares. While I was at it, I decided to look at their paper packs to see what they had and immediately fell in love with the color palette for the Fur-Buddies Paper Pack.

It's been awhile since I spotted a cat collection that I like! Of course I bought it and I've already scrapped my fur-babies, Jessica and Toby using this fun paper. They have stickers to go with the papers too!
I used the kitty paper as a border for the base of my layout. Then I cut a triangle using the grid paper design and adhered it to white cardstock. I used a ruler to draw a 1/4" border around the layout using a black pen.

The stickers are really cute. I love layering the stickers together. At first, I wasn't sure where to place the cute kitty, but I knew I wanted to add him to the layout so I settled for adding him on top of the house. :)

I used a black pen and ruler to draw lines below the photo so I could hand write my journaling. There's something to be said about using your own handwriting, then typed journaling on a layout... I prefer writing my own, however, If I have a lot to write, I'll type it.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Don't forget to stop by Creative Memories' online store to take a look at what's new! I am tempted to buy a few more paper packs and stickers...

Story

Happy Wednesday all. I have a quick and easy layout to share with you today. I love this photo from my sister's wedding. We were all goofing around, having a good time taking a few fun shots after we got done taking formal photos. For this layout, I decided to use the floral die cuts to create a fun border at the bottom of the photo.

I used foam squares to layer the smaller die cuts onto the larger die cuts. They help the flowers pop off the page nicely.

I used a ruler and pilot pen to hand-write my journaling at the bottom of the layout.
